Volunteer

PLEIS-NB relies on a network of volunteers to do our work. We welcome volunteers from a range of practice areas and from anywhere in New Brunswick.

Lawyers who volunteer with PLEIS-NB might:

  • Host a workshop on a legal topic
  • Legally review a publication or a section of legal information on our website
  • Help us draft new legal information resources
  • Speak to a community group
  • Help with a community event
  • Help with a special project

Some volunteer work qualifies for CPD credit from the Law Society of New Brunswick, including our Family Law Workshops. For more information, please send us a message or inquire with the Law Society.

If you are interested in volunteering with PLEIS-NB, please send us an email at info@legalinfonb.ca. We will endeavour to find a match that serves both our organization’s needs and the volunteer’s skills and interests.

Current Opportunities

PLEIS-NB is establishing Legal Content Committees to support our mandate to provide free, up-to-date information about the law to people in New Brunswick.

Our goal is to create two working Legal Content Committees – one in each official language – but our current focus is on establishing the French committee.

To do so, we are seeking interest from French-speaking lawyers would be willing to attend a preliminary meeting in late January 2025.  Membership in the committee involves commitment to an annual meeting held virtually, as well as periodic communication with PLEIS-NB about legal updates in your field(s) of practice.

For more information about committee membership or to express interest in supporting to the Committee, please contact PLEIS-NB’s Associate Director Amber Chisholm at amber.chisholm@gnb.ca. The committee’s first meeting will be in the early new year of 2025. If you are interested in joining the Legal Content Committee, please get in touch as soon as practicable.
