Legal Information Line
PLEIS-NB offers a toll-free Legal Information Line in both French and English. You can call or email the Legal Information Line to ask for legal information about any topic.
The Legal Information Line does not give legal advice. Please contact a lawyer if you need legal advice about your situation.
We can answer questions about the law in New Brunswick, legal procedures, legal terms, and the court system. We can also tell you about sources of free or low-cost legal help or other kinds of support.
(506) 453-5369
Please leave a message if you reach our voicemail. We will return your call within 2 business days. Most people hear back from us sooner than that. If we have not contacted you after 2 business days, we might have had a problem with your contact information. It might have been muffled in your voicemail or there might have been a mistake with the number. Please call or email us again.
We will only call the person who left us the message. For safety and privacy reasons, please do not leave a message asking us to call a third party. If you are calling on behalf of a friend, family member, or client, please leave your name and contact information. We will contact you to determine how we can help the person.
In your message, please tell us:
- Your first name,
- The general subject or question,
- Your phone number (please say it twice), and
- The best time to reach you when we call back.
If you don’t want us to leave a message in your voicemail, please tell us in your message. Otherwise, we will leave a voicemail if we can’t reach you.
The Legal Information Line is supported by a grant from the New Brunswick Law Foundation.
