Workplace training on sexual harassment law

In New Brunswick, most employers have a legal responsibility to have a sexual harassment policy and to ensure that their employees understand the rules and the law. We can help by providing training on sexual harassment law for your workplace.

We provide two training options: self-directed modules or facilitated group training sessions.

Self-directed training modules

SaferPlacesNB.ca hosts two self-directed training modules that you can access for free: one for employees and one for managers. Both take about 45-60 minutes to complete. Both modules include an introduction to harassment and sexual harassment, coaching on how to identify harassing behaviour, and information about how to address sexual harassment. The managers’ module contains additional information about employers’ legal obligations when responding to sexual harassment at work.

Any number of staff from a workplace can register for the modules. Anyone who completes the module will receive a certificate of completion.

Facilitated group trainings on sexual harassment law

You can also contact PLEIS-NB to request a group training session for your workplace. These are available for free until March 31, 2024 thanks to funding from Justice Canada.

We offer separate sessions for employees and managers. This allows us to present the information that is most relevant to staff in those roles. In our experience, separating staff from managers also allows for more open conversation about these issues and more effective training.

Employee training takes about 1.5 hours.  Manager training takes about 2 hours. Both can be run online via Zoom or Teams.
