PLEIS NB is happy to announce that we’ve updated our online resources to reflect the recent changes to the New Brunswick Small Claims Act.
In brief, the procedure for appealing a decision made in Small Claims court to the New Brunswick Court of King’s Bench was changed slightly. The new process streamlines the small-claims appeal process and brings it more in-line with a standard appeal process.
What you need to know:
- Our online Small Claims Guide has been updated with a brief explanation of the update and appeal process, starting on page 42.
- The new booklet can be accessed for free in PDF format here: Small Claims Court: A Guide for Claimants, Defendants, & Third Parties alongside our other Small Claims Court resources.
- We are currently working on a new print version of the Small Claims Guide and hope to have that available soon!
- Some of the forms for small-claims appeals have changed to reflect the new process. The new versions, as well as many other small-claims court documents, can be accessed here, through our website.
